Live Sound & Events

Sound for Your Event, Handled.
Speakers, Microphones, and the Engineer Who Runs Them.

Corporate events, conferences, church services, and live music. I bring what the room needs, run the sound during the event, and pack it up after. Based in Tampa Bay, and I travel for events.

Who you're hiring

Matthew Easterday. Live sound engineer, mixing events since 2009. My broadcast audio has aired on ESPN, Golf Channel, DAZN, and Peacock. Never hired a sound engineer before? Describe the event and I'll tell you what it needs and what it costs.

How I work

I arrive early, set up the system, test every microphone, and engineer the sound for the duration of the event. If the venue already has speakers, I use them and bring whatever is missing. If it doesn't, I bring a system that fits the room.

Questions I get

I just need one microphone and a speaker. Is that too small?

No. Small events are a big part of the work. Tell me what you need.

Do you bring the speakers, or use what the venue has?

Either. Most venues have something usable, and I fill in around it.

What do you need from me?

The date, the venue, roughly how many people, what's happening on stage, and a contact at the venue.

Can you train our volunteers or students?

Yes. I've built and trained volunteer audio teams at churches and schools, including teaching high school students to run a professional console for weekly services. Training can be part of an install or booked on its own.

How far do you travel?

I'm US-based and travel for events. Travel costs are listed in the quote.

Can you also handle video, lighting, or the live stream?

Yes. I run multi-camera live streams and program lighting. Say so and I'll scope it as one booking.

What does it cost?

It depends on the room, how long the day is, and what has to be brought in. You get one flat number.
